“Manage Tags” is a powerful feature within the WebManager that will allow you to create groups of products that you wish to showcase to your clients. Common uses for tags are to highlight clearance items, holiday sales, trade show specific items, and upcoming releases. To access this feature, simply log into the WebManager, click on “Products” followed by “Manage Tags”. This will take you to the following screen:
Let’s create a new Tag from scratch that we’ll call “Holiday Sale 2017”. First, we need to click on the orange “Create New Tag” button:
Now we need to fill in the details. Tag Name is the title of the new tag we are creating.
Important: The following characters "&,#,|,/" cannot be used in the tag name as it causes issues.
Tag Order is where we determine the new tag’s place amongst the other tags, if applicable. Since we want the Holiday Sale to be displayed first, let’s put a “1” here.
Display ON is where you choose to display the new tag. You have three choices: “iPad”, “B2B”, or All. “B2B” refers to RepZio’s B2B Direct service—if you are not a subscriber to that service, then choose “iPad”. The Description field is where you can create a short description of your new tag. The last step is to select the first item to appear in the tag—this is done in the First Item In Tag field. You will need to enter the ItemID of the product you wish to display first in the new tag. Once you are done, make sure to click on the “Create New Tag” button to save your work.
Let’s add more products to the new Holiday Sale tag. To do so, we need to select the new Holiday Sale tag we made from the “Select Tag” drop-down menu.
To add more products to the tag, you must first select a category from the “Add Products” drop-down menu. Drag and drop the chosen product(s) into the tag on the left-hand side. You can also rearrange the order of the products within the tag, as well.
Please note that you also the option to rename or delete the tag by clicking on the appropriate red buttons above. Once you have finished editing a tag, make sure to click on the green “Save Changes” button to save your work.
Lastly, you have the ability to merge two tags together. Merging tags allow you to transfer the products of one tag into another existing tag. To do so, click on the blue “Merge Tags” button. The following pop-up menu will appear:
“Source” is the tag you wish to move the products from. “Destination” is the tag where the “Source” products will be merged into. Once you have selected the appropriate tags, click on the green “Merge Tags” button to do so. Please note that this process will delete the “Source” tag, removing it from the display.
Is this the only way to create tags?
Which method is faster to create tags—Manage Tags, or the spreadsheet?
It depends on how many tags you wish to create. One or two tags can be created quickly using the Manage Tags feature. If you need to create or edit a large amount of tag information, then the spreadsheet is the best way to go.
How have other RepZio clients used tags in their businesses?
The most common usage of tags is to showcase certain products for a seasonal sale, like holiday or spring sales. Some clients use tags to advertise their discontinued products at a reduced price to encourage buying. Some of our clients have created tags specifically for a trade show/market to highlight products that will be released later in the year.
How many Tags can be active at the same time? How many products can I have in a Tag?
There is no limit to either the number of active tags or the number of products in each tag.
How do I remove an item from a tag?
Select the tag from the drop-down menu, and double-click the item you wish to remove from the tag.
That's it for managing Tags! Next item: Arrange Tags
